Aditya Chandra H (b.1986, Indonesia) questions contemporary notions of the environment as something separate from mankind through his work. The artist has exhibited in Southeast Asia, primarily in Indonesia since 2012. He studied sculpture at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts. One of the ideas behind Aditya’s art involves Animism, particularly inherent in Indonesian culture, predating other religions by centuries and remains a part of daily traditional practices and beliefs. Through the creation and presentation of his art, Aditya hopes to increase awareness of the bio-political intersections between man and environment, and the unintentional outcomes of this dysfunctional relationship.
